Joe Przybylowicz, LMT (pronounced Pra-bill’-o-wick) is the owner and principal Licensed Massage Therapist of Lehigh Valley Neuromuscular Associates (LVNA). Joe began a career in massage therapy in 1990 and has been an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association since 1991 and nationally certified since 1993. Recently, Joe has received Board Certification with the National Therapeutic Board, the highest level of achievement attainable.
Joe began his career when he started looking for help to manage his chronic back pain. He found help in massage therapy and started taking classes. He went on to study with Paul St. John, the founder of St. John’s Method of Neuromuscular Therapy, and certified with him in 1992. Not long after this Joe began as a teaching assistant. He traveled across the country with St. John to educate other massage therapists in this mode of therapy.
Joe knew that while massage works great for pain management, he searched for more proactive methods to reduce pain for himself and his clients. He found Aaron Mattes, who is the originator of Active Isolated Stretching: The Mattes Method. Joe studied the Mattes Method and also had the opportunity to train one-on-one with Master Mattes at Aaron’s clinic in Florida. Joe now provides stretching for his clients in his office, as well as one-on-one and group instruction, so that they can learn to do it properly at home.
Joe opened his own massage practice in 1998 and has many regular clients who come to him for both the massage therapy and assisted stretching. He helps them to proactively decrease pain, increase flexibility, and improve athletic performance. Joe provides massage and stretching for the cross country team at Parkland High School. For more than a decade, Joe has volunteered his time with the athletes of Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, and the Women’s 5K Classic in Allentown, as well as other various running races throughout the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area.
